This policy explains how Instant Bobcats handles your personal information — both when you use our website to get in touch, and when authorised users use the Instant Bobcats mobile app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information openly and honestly.
Instant Bobcats is an earthmoving and excavation contractor based in Forrestdale, Western Australia, serving the Perth metropolitan area. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Instant Bobcats.
This policy applies to two things:
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Part 1Our website is mainly a way for potential and existing customers to learn about our services and contact us. It does not require you to create an account, and it does not have an online form that stores your details in a database — instead it gives you links to email us, call us, or open our client portal.
When you choose to contact us — for example by emailing or calling using the links on the website — we receive the information you provide. This typically includes your name, email address or phone number, your site or business address, and the details of your enquiry (such as the work you need quoted). We use this information only to:
When you visit the website, our website hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view — in server logs. This is used to keep the website secure, reliable, and working properly.
Our website does not use advertising cookies, third-party marketing trackers, or analytics that profile you across other websites.
Part 2The Instant Bobcats app (bundle ID au.com.instantbobcats.app) is an internal, job-management and crew-dispatch tool distributed as an unlisted iOS App Store release. It is used only by Instant Bobcats staff and authorised subcontractors to manage jobs, scheduling, on-site work, and compliance — it is not available to, or intended for, the general public. Accounts are issued by Instant Bobcats management.
Information collected in the app is stored in Supabase (a PostgreSQL database plus object storage) hosted by Supabase Inc., a US-based provider. See Third parties and Overseas storage below.
The user's email address and name, used to sign the user in and to attribute job actions — for example, who created, approved, or allocated a job — so we keep an accurate audit trail.
An internal identifier generated by Supabase authentication to uniquely identify the user's account.
A user's precise GPS location, captured only while the app is in use and only when the user explicitly clocks in or out of a job, or records a job site location. It is used to confirm crew were on site and to record where work was carried out.
The app does not track location passively or in the background. Location is captured only at the moment the user takes one of the specific actions above.
Photos and videos captured with the in-app camera or selected from the device's photo library, used to record site conditions, materials, faults, and completed work. These are stored against the relevant job.
Audio captured via the device microphone when the user chooses to create a job using a voice note. These recordings are used only to help create the job.
The actions taken in the app — such as a job being created, a status changed, or a form submitted — recorded for compliance, auditing, and internal analytics about how work is carried out.
Because Supabase is a US-based provider, app data may be transferred to, and stored in, the United States. By using the app, users acknowledge that their information may be handled outside Australia in this way.

We do not share your information with any other third parties, except where we are required or permitted to by law.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and to meet our business, tax, and legal record-keeping obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

The app is for authorised users only, so revoking or removing access to the app requires contacting Instant Bobcats management.

If you are still not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au.
Our website and app are not directed at, and are not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will let you know on the website, in the app, or by email.
